Message from the President

Welcome to the website of the Black Nurses Association of Greater Washington, DC Area, Inc. (BNA-GWDCA). We appreciate you taking the time to peruse our site to gain insight into the mission of our organization. We provide a variety of services and activities geared towards health prevention and maintenance as well as access to health for the underserved communities.
We also provide food and toiletries to the DC Food Pantry Program to assist with providing students proper nourishment. Small household items are also donated through this program. The DC Food Pantry program is in several schools within the DC area to allow students in need to obtain food, household and personal items.

BNA-GWDCA provides several scholarships to deserving students who wish to go into the nursing profession. We have six scholarships available, Dr. Johnella Banks, Felicia C. Brady, Veronica S. Longstreth, Margaret Pemberton, and Founders. We also have an annual fundraising event, The Annual Salute to the Black Nurse of the Year and Scholarship Awards Luncheon, to recognize an outstanding black nurse in the metropolitan area and to raise funds for scholarships for nursing students.

If you would like further information, please contact BNA-GWDCA at bnaofgwdca@gmail.com.
Thank you,

Diana Wharton, President
